The Lawyr — AI Lawyer Finder & Legal Consultation Platform

Finding the right lawyer in Sri Lanka is slow and uncertain: people rarely know which kind of lawyer they need, whether a profile is genuine, or how to book a first consultation.

Lawyers, in turn, lack a modern channel to build their reputation and manage new clients.

We are building The Lawyr, a platform where users search verified lawyers by specialization, location and language, and an AI legal assistant in English, Sinhala and Tamil helps them understand which type of lawyer they need.

Users can book online or in-person consultations from each lawyer's real availability, chat in real time, and leave verified reviews. Lawyers get a dashboard for their schedule, articles, subscriptions and invoices, while a community hub and legal library share practical legal knowledge. The platform is built with Next.js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL and Prisma, with real-time messaging over Socket.io.

Behind the assistant is our own legal AI engine: a Python RAG service that ingests Sri Lankan Acts and their amendments, and a LangGraph agent that reasons over a ChromaDB vector store and a legal knowledge graph of Acts, sections and their relationships. It can also search the web, then returns answers with citations and recommends the right type of lawyer. The engine runs on local models through Ollama or on cloud LLMs, and is served to the platform through a Flask API.
